Faith Companion Launch

On Sunday 29th April in the evening Bishop Richard Moth officially launched the new magazine 'The Faith Companion' at St John the Evangelist in Horsham.

The Faith Companion magazine offers an encounter the Catholic Tradition and a sharing experiences of God. It aims to be an interface between faith and life. Each edition will have articles on aspects of the faith through an attempt to make theology accessible and relevant. There will be encounter with Scripture, practical articles on aspects of prayer, and a section introducing the saints, their lives and spiritualities.

Each edition will offer a space where people can share their own faith stories, graces, illuminations they have received and stories of faith in action. Devotional practices will be explored, with the aim of enabling us all to hear and respond to God’s voice in our lives. There will be a question and answer section to respond to issues raised by readers. Finally we will offer a book review recommending books to inspire a living faith. Everything will be placed within the framework of the Truth revealed in and by Jesus Christ and taught by the Catholic Church.

The Faith Companion is a Community Interest Company (CIC) and as such exists to serve the Catholic community which means legally we have to give back 65% of our profits to the Church. The wish is that this money is used to raise funds for the laity: firstly to help those, whose financial means may not allow them to access our Tradition by attending courses, study days, retreats and pilgrimages; secondly, to provide a fund for education, adult and spiritual formation and training for the laity. So The Faith Companion is more than a magazine, it is a way of disseminating the faith to all and providing the laity with the means to become empowered children of God.
